The day-to-day expectations for life at Qbix Centre.
These rules may be updated as needed.
Qbix Centre is a coworking space — a quiet, professional environment for productive work, and a chance to widen your circle of acquaintances and business contacts. Above all, it is a workplace, and these house rules apply to everyone. Members who repeatedly disregard these rules may have their access revoked.
1. Offices and Shared Spaces
Using and caring for the space
Each office or workstation includes a desk, chair, storage area, and wireless or wired internet access.
Members have access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Treat the property with care. Damage caused by negligence is the member’s responsibility — replacement or repayment is required.
Do not bring your own furniture or hang posters on the walls without first checking with management. If you have an idea for an improvement, we’d love to hear it.
We set the temperature for the comfort of most members. Personal heaters are not permitted. Heating and cooling are reduced after normal business hours and on weekends to conserve energy.
Pets are not allowed in the workspace.
Conference Room
One conference room is available, intended for business meetings, longer phone calls, and video conferences.
Furniture stays in the conference room at all times.
Reserve the conference room through the online booking system at qbixcentre.com.
If the conference room is open and unbooked, members may use it on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kitchenette
All members may use the kitchenette.
Label any food or drinks you store in the cupboards or refrigerator with your name.
Keep the kitchenette clean and tidy after use.
Personal food remaining in the refrigerator on Friday evening will be discarded.
Drinks in the refrigerator and Keurig coffee are complimentary for on-site use.
2. Noise
Coworking is a shared environment. Keep voices low and minimize avoidable noise.
Phone calls — Adjust your volume when speaking on the phone. If a call might disturb others, take it in your private office or the conference room. Headphones are highly recommended.
Set your cell phone to vibrate when in shared spaces.
Visitors — Visitors are welcome but are subject to the same rules. Bring private guests to the conference room or your office.
3. Cleanliness
Each member is responsible for keeping their own desk and the common areas clean. Tidy up before you leave for the day, and recycle whenever possible.
Cleaning supplies are stored in designated locations.
A cleaning service comes in each weekend and has access to all offices. If you’d prefer your office not be cleaned, leave your trash bin outside your office door on Friday evening.
4. Internet
Free Wi-Fi and wired ethernet are available in every office. Ask management for the password.
Wired ethernet typically delivers the fastest speeds — we recommend it for video calls and large transfers.
Do not download torrents or other illegal files.
Be considerate with bandwidth.
5. Printing
Printer use is included, subject to any overage charges in your membership terms.
You may install the printer drivers on your own computer using the instructions posted near the printer.
6. Smoking and Vaping
Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are not permitted anywhere on the property.
7. Document Destruction
A document shredder is available for sensitive documents. Please use it only for that purpose.
8. Scents and Sensitivities
Out of respect for members with allergies and sensitivities, please do not burn candles, incense, or other strongly scented products in the workspace.
